With this knowledge a highly effective plan for your diet, exercise and lifestyle can be created.
Rather than just a quick fix with a fit all approach, the aim of a functional dietary programme is adopting an eating style which works for you and is healthy, enjoyable and sustainable in the long term.

When necessary a tailored natural supplement plan will complement your dietary style.

The focus is on adding nourishment to your life, not only from a dietary perspective but reflecting all aspects which influence your health such as your relation with food, your stress levels, lifestyle, exercise routine and relationships.

Learning and practicing mindful eating means applying mindfulness towards foods, body image and weight loss which helps us to let go of any blame related to the way we are, how we look and why we eat the way we eat.

Nothing productive comes from blaming ourselves or others and this can encourage a negative pattern of focus which keeps us stuck in these negative patterns.

At Amchara the focus is shifted to your new health and weightloss goals and you will be encouraged, guided and inspired by newly gained knowledge about healthy eating, your body, and your lifestyle.

The Top Cancer-Causing Ingredients That Could Be In Your Body + How To Avoid Them

We’ve always known that life brings us in contact with a staggering number of chemicals, some of which are potentially dangerous in high doses. But we’ve never had a clear understanding about how many of those chemicals are actually making their way into our bodies—until now.

The Environmental Working Group just released a first-of-its-kind report on the chemical carcinogens found in people’s bodies. After compiling biomarker data, which measures chemical levels in the blood, urine, breast milk, and hair, the EWG detected up to 420 different potential carcinogens.

What the report means for you

Now, before you freak out, it’s important to realize that just because these chemicals may be in your body, it doesn’t mean they’re actively causing cancer.

Though there is a clear link between chemicals and disease (the World Health Organization estimates that as many as 19 percent of cancers are caused by environmental factors), the toxicity of the chemicals, the duration of exposure, and the body’s genetics all play a huge role. And the EWG estimates that only nine of the more than 400 carcinogens found were measured at levels high enough to pose nontrivial cancer risks.

How to reduce your risk

Carcinogens are present in everything from industrial products and pesticides to more natural sources like food and water, so not even the most Howard Hughes-est of germophobes stands a chance of completely dodging them.

However, certain simple lifestyle tweaks can help reduce your risk of exposure. We reached out to hormone expert Dr. Sara Gottfried to get her take on some of the report’s most widely found carcinogens and snag some of her tips on how to keep them out of your body.

1. Heavy metals

Heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead were among the most frequently detected carcinogens in the report, found in 90 percent of the participants. Industrial workers are especially vulnerable to heavy metal exposure, but trace metals are also present in drinking water and certain seafood. Metal molecules can disrupt the endocrine system and bind to DNA to cause mutations.

Dr. Gottfried proposes checking websites like the Centers for Disease Control or the Monterey Bay Aquarium for detailed information on mercury levels in various fish.

2. Pesticides

Pesticides from industrial farms can sneak into food and water sources, and traces of them were found in one-third to two-thirds of those surveyed in the EWG study.

The EWG advises choosing organic produce whenever possible, especially if you’re shopping for these 12 pesticide-heavy fruit and veggie varieties, and Dr. Gottfried recommends investing in a water purification system to nix pesticide contaminants from your tap.

3. Phthalates

Phthalates are synthetic chemicals found in certain plastics, beauty products, and pesticides. Known hormone disruptors, they’ve been tied to metabolism, fertility, and reproductive health issues.

The EWG recommends steering clear of all personal care and cleaning products that have the word “fragrance” on the ingredients list, since they often contain phthalates. Dr. Gottfried says to avoid plastic products that have the “3” recycling code molded on the bottom, for they also likely contain the chemical.

4. Bisphenol A (BPA)

Bisphenol A is another chemical that’s found in household plastics like water bottles and food can linings. It can disrupt the endocrine system and has been linked toobesity, diabetes, and endometriosis.

The EWG recommends opting for fresh food over canned whenever possible and avoiding plastics marked with “PC” (for polycarbonate) or “7” recycling codes. Dr. Gottfried suggests adding more probiotic-rich foods like yogurt and tempeh to your diet, as they’ve been shown to facilitate the removal of BPA from the body in animal studies.

What the report could mean for the country

The EWG released the review to advance research about how carcinogens drive disease and educate the public about the pervasiveness of chemicals in modern life.

“We thought that would be really valuable for researchers to see where the gaps are, and we also thought it would be valuable for individuals to understand the incredible amount of carcinogens in the world, where they’re coming from, and the ways in which they can reduce exposures,” Curt DellaValle, the study’s senior scientist, explained to mindbodygreen.

DellaValle also underlined the importance of federal policy in spurring real chemical reform.

“When we stopped using lead in paint, we saw a drastic decrease in people who had the chemical in their system. When PCBs were banned in America, we also saw a decrease in the amount that was detected in people,” he said. “I think that shows that when we pass effective policies, we can see really dramatic reductions in our chemical exposures.”

President Obama’s recent Moonshot Initiative aims to find a cure to cancer—a cure that the EWG and its President Ken Cook think could start before diagnosis.

“We should focus on preventing cancer by preventing human exposure to these chemicals,” he said in the report’s press release.

Do You Need A Liver Detox?

Girl Detoxing

14 FOODS THAT HELP CLEANSE & DETOX THE LIVER

Modern society has created a sad state for our over-processed livers. Anytime we overeat or eat processed or fried foods, and, anytime we are exposed to environmental pollutants or stress, the liver becomes overworked and overloaded. When the liver is taxed, it can’t process toxins and fat in an efficient way. There are many foods that can help cleanse the liver naturally by stimulating the natural ability to clean toxic waste from the body.

List of Foods that Cleanse the Liver

This is a list of really effective liver cleansing foods.

In addition to taking a liver-cleansing supplement, and performing at least two liver cleanses per year (see below), eating the following foods is the best way to keep your liver healthy and functioning the way you need it to. Incorporating these foods into your weekly diet is believed to be beneficial in achieving and mainlining liver health.

  1. Garlic

Just a small amount of this pungent white bulb has the ability to activate liver enzymes that help your body flush out toxins. Garlic also holds high amounts of allicin and selenium, two natural compounds that aid in liver cleansing.

  1. Grapefruit

High in both vitamin C and antioxidants, grapefruit increasea the natural cleansing processes of the liver. A small glass of freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice will help boost production of liver detoxification enzymes that help flush out carcinogens and other toxins.

  1. Beets and Carrots

Both extremely high in plant-flavonoids and beta-carotene, eating both beets and carrots can help stimulate and improve overall liver function.

  1. Green Tea

This liver-loving beverage is chock-full of plant antioxidants known as catechins, a constituent known to assist the livers overall functions. Green tea is not only delicious, it’s also a great way to improve your overall diet. Learn more about the benefits of green tea.

  1. Leafy Green Vegetables

One of our most powerful allies in cleansing the liver, leafy greens can be eaten raw, cooked or juiced. Extremely high in plant chlorophylls, greens literally suck up environmental toxins from the blood stream. With their distinct ability to nuetralize heavy metals, chemicals and pesticides, these cleansing foods offer a powerful protective mechanism for the liver.

Try incorporating leafy greens such as bitter gourd, arugula, dandelion greens, spinach, mustard greens and chicory into your diet. This will help increase the creation and flow of bile, the substance that removes waste from the organs and blood.

  1. Avocados

This nutrient-dense super-food helps the body produce glutathione, which is necessary for the liver to cleanse harmful toxins. Recent studies indicate improved liver health when avocados are eaten regularly.

  1. Apples

High in pectin, apples hold the chemical constituents needed for the body to cleanse and release toxins from the digestive tract. This, in turn, makes it easier for the liver to handle the toxic load during the cleansing process.

  1. Olive Oil

Cold-pressed organic oils such as olive, hemp and flax-seed are great for the liver, when used in moderation. They help the body by providing a lipid base that can suck up harmful toxins in the body. In this way, it takes some of the burden off the liver in terms of the toxic overload that many of us suffer from.

  1. Whole Grains

Grains, such as brown rice, are rich in B-complex vitamins, nutrients known to improve overall fat metabolization, liver function and liver decongestion. If possible, do not eat foods with white flour, instead try eating whole wheat alternatives.

  1. Cruciferous Vegetables

Broccoli

Eating broccoli and cauliflower will increase the amount of glucosinolate in your system, adding to enzyme production in the liver. These natural enzymes help flush out carcinogens, and other toxins, out of our body which significantly lowers our risk of cancer.

  1. Lemons & Limes

These citrus fruits contain very high amounts of the vitamin C, which aids the body in synthesizing toxic material into substance that can be absorbed by water. Drinking freshly-squeezed lemon or lime juice in the morning helps stimulate the liver.

  1. Walnuts

Holding high amount of the amino acid arginine, walnuts aid the liver in detoxifying ammonia. Walnuts are also high in glutathione and omega-3 fatty acids which support normal liver cleansing actions. Make sure you chew the nuts well (until they are liquefied) before swallowing.

  1. Cabbage

Much like broccoli and cauliflower, eating cabbage helps stimulate the activation of two crucial liver detoxifying enzymes that help flush out toxins. Try eating more kimchi, coleslaw, cabbage soup and sauerkraut.

  1. Turmeric

The liver’s favorite spice. Try adding some of this detoxifying goodness into your next lentil stew or veggie dish for an instant liver pick-me-up. Turmeric helps boost liver detox, by assisting enzymes that actively flush out known dietary carcinogens.

Tips For Doing a Liver Cleanse

Other liver cleanse foods not listed above are artichoke, asparagus, kale and brussel sprouts. Eating the foods listed above is a great way to keep your liver functioning properly. However, for the best results, you may want to do a liver cleanse.

Doing a liver cleanse at least twice a year will eliminate any foreign substances that may be trapped in your liver.

Hepasan is a liver, gall bladder and kidney flush. It is intended to be taken with organic apple juice.

An individual interested in effecting a thorough cleanse should take four capsules of Hepasan with six ounces of apple juice three times a day for five days. It is important to clear the digestive tract prior to engaging in a liver and gall bladder cleanse as these two organs empty into the intestines and colon.

This will give the excreted wastes a place to empty into and prevent an uncomfortable backup of toxins commonly referred to as a detox reaction.

When taking Hepasan, it is useful (but not essential) to drink organic apple juice and is a good idea to spread the three doses throughout the day either shortly before or after mealtime.

You will find more information and a brochure on Hepasan at The Finchley Clinic

Live Blood London has an affiliation with The Finchley Clinic who we believe offer great products and advise along with a very informative website.

Beneficial Effects of Fasting on Diabetic Patients

Effects of Fasting on Diabetic Patients

Fasting is not a new method but our ancestors would say they did not have much of a choice. It was just part of life in Palaeolithic times when food was scarce and people did not have the means to store huge amounts of food. The community were dependent on the luck and expertise of their hunters and gatherers. In ancient times however, cleansing and detoxing became more acknowledged and valued. Our ancestors already used methods, such as water fasts, enemas or saunas to detoxify their bodies.

In the 21st century, we face very different challenges; environmental pollution has risen to such heights that the detoxification capabilities of our bodies are challenged even more than before. (1) It is also important to consider additional factors like smoking and drinking alcohol on a regular basis. It should not come as a surprise that the most common way to put extra strain on the body is to consume foods high in sugar and simple carbohydrates.

The detoxification pathways

The way the body works is very efficient, if we use the right foods to fuel it. We have several organs involved in continuous detoxification, such as the liver, the kidneys, the gut, the lungs and the lymphatic system. The main role is played by the liver, which creates water-soluble substances that can be easily excreted from the body.

This happens in two phases: in the first phase, compounds are prepared for elimination via chemical reactions that can often transform them into more harmful substances. This step prepares the liver for the second phase, (the conjugation pathway) where these toxic substances are bound to other chemicals that render them harmless and ready for excretion.

It is imperative to note that patients with chronic illnesses can be made to feel worse during fasting because of an increase in circulating toxins in the body. Medical and naturopathic supervision is highly recommended to support clients and to avoid any potentially dangerous reactions. (2) Pregnant women and individuals with liver, kidney or heart arrhythmias should not fast.

But what is Diabetes?

After eating carbohydrates the body breaks them down into glucose. This is chased into the cells by a hormone produced in the pancreas called insulin. In a very simplistic way, diabetes means that the insulin receptors on the cells are unable to respond to the insulin and glucose is left circulating in the blood. Instead of creating stable blood sugar levels during food intake, glucose levels can fluctuate erratically, leading to sugar cravings and hunger.

The brain receives messages that it needs more food and this creates a vicious circle making it very hard for people even in a pre-diabetic state to lose and then maintain weight on their own. A very common body characteristic is fat around the middle, which can also increase the risk of other illnesses, such as heart disease, arthritis or depression.

To improve the life of someone with diabetes, it’s important to break this cycle by taking the strain off the insulin-producing cells. Studies prove that diet and lifestyle intervention can improve glucose tolerance and insulin resistance. (3)

Calorie restriction, intermittent fasting and alternate day fasting all seem to be great methods and depending on the patient’s condition and willingness, they might even be able to reduce or completely remove the need for medication. (3, 4)

Research (5), from Newcastle University has provided promising results on reversing type 2 diabetes, by reducing weight and therefore “reawakening” the insulin cells in the pancreas. This could give even more motivation to those with type 2 diabetes, wishing to avoid medication.

Identifying the individual detoxification pathways and understanding the environmental and lifestyle factors is crucial, in order to give personalised nutritional support and to reduce symptoms associated with metabolic toxicity.

Detox – 5 Steps for Making Sure You Drink Enough Water During Your Detox

Measuring Tape and Glass of Water

A natural detoxification means consuming food and fluids which are natural and plentiful. Your detox can be aimed at getting rid of toxins and/or losing weight.

Drinking plenty of water is an important part of detoxing.

Even though the advantages of drinking water is a known fact, many people find it difficult to drink 8 glasses of water every day.

Here are 5 ways to get your required water consumption for a natural detox.

  1. Make it a rule to drink at least 3 glasses of water in the morning before breakfast. This way you know you are at least getting a good amount of water into your system for the day ahead. This is a good habit to get into and helps if you forget to drink water during the day.

Drinking Bottled Water

  1. Carrying a water bottle with you everywhere you go is a good way to encourage you to drink throughout the day. Every little sip adds up so don’t worry about consuming the whole bottle at the same time.
  2. If you find it really difficult to drink water and just don’t get thirsty, consider adding some natural fruit flavour to make it more palatable. Be careful about sugar content.
  3. Drinking good quality herbal teas such as green tea will also have a detoxifying effect and provide hydration.
  4. Make it another rule to drink as much water as you can before you sleep, this will remind you if you have not been drinking enough throughout the day and make up the shortfall.

Detox Your House

Detox Your House

Experts say -The lack of ventilation in homes is a major cause of indoor air pollution.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air pollution is two to five times worse than outdoor air pollution. And the at-home version can cause or aggravate asthma and allergies, which are on the rise in the United States.

You can wipe out mold, smoke, dust, and other invisible health hazards that have been trapped in your home all winter. Here’s how:

flame-fire-oven-light-77502

Gas and fumes from cookers, stoves & ovens

With every meal that you cook, your kitchen gets polluted with a little bit of smoke, soot, and possibly carbon monoxide (if you own a gas stove or range).

Inhaling high levels of carbon monoxide in your home can be fatal; being exposed to even low levels can cause fatigue, headaches, disorientation, dizziness, nausea, and other flu-like symptoms.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that more than 15,000 people go to the emergency room each year due to non-fatal CO poisoning.

Your Detox Duties:

Check your burners: If flames are yellow-tipped, that may mean your stove is releasing too much CO. Call your manufacturer to find out if your burners should be readjusted.

If you don’t have one already, install an exhaust hood vented to the outdoors.

If you do have an exhaust fan, clean it.

Install a detector

pesticides

Chemical fumes emitted by certain cleaning products

These can also cause health problems like eye, nose, and throat irritation, lung damage

To reduce exposure to irritating fumes, cut back on your use of cleaning products and look for natural cleaning products from your health food shop.

  •    Pesticides, insecticides and herbicides are a part of everyday life, however many who use these products are unaware of their consequences on the environment and personal health.
  •    Fortunately, these chemicals are not necessary to keep pests away. Throw out all of those toxic cleaning products and replace them with fewer, safer products
  •    Some natural products used to deter and kill pests you might find in your very own pantry; like garlic, lemon, eucalyptus essential oil, rosemary oil, peppermint oil, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon oil.
  •    For beautiful smells, explore the use of aromatherapy in your home. You can add a few drops to liquid soaps, cleaning supplies or use a diffuser.
  •    Other natural insecticides and herbicides include pyrethrum (which comes from the chrysanthemum), rotenone (from the derris plant) and Diatomaceous Earth (from the remains of plankton).

mould

Mould

Besides being ultra-ugly and sometimes smelly, mould can trigger allergic reactions (watery  eyes, runny nose, coughing, and headaches).

Research shows that some strains of mould may be highly toxic.

Mould can be found in any place that’s excessively moist like rooms with damp, kitchens,  bathrooms and basements, where humidity levels tend to be high.

To put a stop to growth, you have to control the moisture level in your home.

  • Scrub grout with a mix of 1/4 cup liquid chlorine bleach and six cups water (use a stronger solution if necessary), and rinse. Remember to wear rubber gloves and keep the room well ventilated.
  • Clean both sides of rubber mats with the bleach solution above.
  • Put plastic shower curtains in the wash for five minutes on the gentle setting. If they’re mouldy, GHRI recommends adding 3/4 cup liquid chlorine bleach to the load.
  • Consider installing an exhaust fan that’s vented to the outside, if you don’t have one already. Ventilation is key to keeping bathrooms and kitchens dry and toxin-free.
  • Check cement walls (particularly near the floor, ceiling, and windows) and crawl spaces in the basement for mold. If you find patches, scrub them away with a stiff brush soaked in a solution of one cup liquid chlorine bleach and one gallon water. Do the same thing for painted walls.

control-dust-mite-and-pet-danderDust and dander

A buildup can cause flu like symptoms and respiratory problems.

  • Get your air conditioner ready for prime time. A well-maintained unit can help filter out some allergens — but if the filter, drip tray, or other parts are dirty, the AC may actually allow new allergens into the house.  Have a central air system? Replace your filter at least every three months; if you have the electrostatic kind, clean it regularly.
  • If you have a humidifier and dehumidifier, clean them as well.
  • Vacuum upholstery: Vacuum mattresses, flip, and vacuum again. If there’s a musty smell, wipe surfaces with a solution of one cup rubbing alcohol and one cup warm water. Wipe again with water only and let the bed dry.

Detox Foods to Add to Your Diet

Detox Water

There are many techniques and products that you can use and take to detoxify the body.

Here’s a list of detox foods that are an excellent addition to the diet.

Fruits which are abundant in liquid content assists the body in washing out toxins.

Fruits are also very simple to digest and are full of antioxidants, nutrients, fibre, and significant vitamins. These plants increase chlorophyll which will aid in your digestion. Chlorophyll in fruit rids the body of harmful external toxins from toxic metals, herbicides/pesticides, chemicals from cleaning products and cosmetics and environmental chemicals. Citrus fruits help the body by flushing out toxins and kick-starting your digestion with enzymatic processes improving digestion.

Lemon

Lemon juice facilitates in liver cleansing. To improve detoxification, start every morning with a glass of fresh lemon juice in warm lemon. Don’t forget, vitamin C is among the best detoxification vitamins around as it converts toxins into digestible material. Eat vitamin C foods frequently to help get more of these benefits. Lemon juice helps stimulate the liver into creating detoxification enzymes that help filter toxicity deposits from the digestive process.

Broccoli

Vegetables – Broccoli and sprouts which are full of antioxidants have the capability to stimulate the detoxification enzymes in the digestion tract Sprouts are actually more efficient than the fully grown vegetable.

Green Tea Powder

Green tea extract which is packed with antioxidants, washes toxins from the system through its liquid content, but also includes a particular form of antioxidant called catechins, that are known to improve liver function.

Mung Bean

The mighty mung bean has been utilized by Ayurvedic physicians for centuries. It’s incredibly easy to digest, and absorbs toxicity residue from the intestine walls.

Almonds

Nuts and Seeds – Integrate more of these readily digestible seeds and nuts into your diet – flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, Siberian cedar nuts, and sunflower seeds so are typical excellent options.

Flax seeds and linseed oil

Use hemp, avocado, olive, or flax seed oil while cleansing. They may assist lubricate the intestine walls, enabling the toxins to be consumed by the oil, and eliminated by the body.

Performing a periodic body cleanse can also be beneficial.

Detox for Getting Rid of Parasites

Detox

By Earthworks health

The good news is that there are some natural treatments that are effective at helping the body detox and cleanse itself by killing and removing yeast and parasites. If you suspect that you have parasites or a yeast overgrowth, you might consider some of the treatments below:

what-is-detox

Dietary Adjustments– If you do have yeast or parasites, any sugars at all can feed an infestation and make removal very uncomfortable. If you are embarking on a natural detox or treatment for Candida, fungi or parasites, remove all sources of natural sugar from your diet, including sources like honey and fruits. Some Stevia is ok once in a while, but avoid anything that gives the body a sugar source and feeds yeast or parasites. Consider also avoiding dairy for 1-2 weeks to give your body a detox and boost.

Diatomaceous Earth– This is a naturally occurring substance that has amazing ability to kill parasites, yeast and parasite eggs. It is naturally high in silica, which is necessary for hair, nail and skin growth, and has other trace minerals as well. It can also help restore body tissue and improve digestion. If you decide to take this supplementally, start with 1 tsp per day in 8 ounces of water and work up to 1-2 TBSP a day until yeast symptoms disappear. Read the info below on Herxheimers reaction! Also, make sure to use food grade Diatomaceous earth!

Apple Cider Vinegar– Another easy and effective remedy for Candida and parasites. Apple Cider Vinegar is high in B-vitamins and very nourishing to the body. It helps the body’s pH neutralize and improves digestion. It is well known for killing yeast and improving skin condition. Some people are leery of vinegar, as a fermented product, when they have a yeast infection. While some fermented products like beer and wine can feed yeast, Apple Cider Vinegar undergoes a much different fermentation process and produces a completely different reaction in the body. It tastes awful, but after taking it for a while, you will become more tolerant of the taste, and your body will start to crave it. Start with 1 tsp up to 3 times a day about 30 minutes before each meal (some people can’t handle it before breakfast!). If you handle this well, this dosage can be increased to a tablespoon.

apple cider vinegar

Probiotics– Probiotics restore the helpful gut bacteria that is wiped out by yeast or parasites (or antibiotic or oral contraceptive use). Probiotics are necessary to restore proper intestinal flora, even after yeast and parasites have been removed. A high-quality probiotic supplement should be included, taken according to product instruction. Do not take probiotics within an hour of Apple Cider Vinegar or Diatomaceous Earth! You might also consider drinks like Kombucha and Water Kefir to help build up probiotic levels, or organic, whole, plain, full-fat yogurt.

Cinnamon– Cinnamon is a natural remedy for parasites and fungus. Take ½ tsp of a high-quality cinnamon powder in water up to three times a day.

cinnamon

Vitamin C– Besides being an excellent antioxidant and immune support, Vitamin C is helpful in yeast/parasite removal. If you have symptoms of yeast and parasites, take 5,000 mg (5 grams) per day spread out in 2-3 doses. Do not take vitamin C at the same time as calcium/magnesium as they will neutralize each other. High consumption of Vitamin C may cause loose bowel movements, especially when yeast and parasites are being removed. This is not necessarily worrisome, but if it bothers you, adjust the dose down until symptoms go away.

vitamin c

Coconut Oil– Coconut Oil is naturally anti-fungal and very nourishing to the body. Hopefully, you are using it in your cooking by now, but consider taking several tablespoons a day additional as an anti-fungal support. This will also help support the hormones and reproductive system. To make it easier to take, dissolve a couple tablespoons in a hot tea of choice and drink. The first couple sips will be coconut oil, and then you will just taste the tea.

Garlic– To help remove yeast and parasites, finely mince 1-2 cloves and drink in a cup of water before meals.

coconut-oil-and-garlic-juice

Olive Oil– Also an anti-fungal that supports the removal of parasite and yeast waste. Add 1-2 TBSP or more to salads or veggies, or take supplementally.

Other Herbs are known to help with yeast and parasites: Oregano Oil, Thyme, Peppermint, Rosemary, Olive Leaf Extract and Grapefruit Seed Extract. If you have a severe case of yeast or parasites, consider using any of these potent herbs, but do your research first!

olive oil

Sweat– As your body kills off parasites and yeast, their by-products must be removed from the body, along with the toxins that they might have bound themselves to. Some of these are best removed through the sweat glands, so let your body sweat by exercising, taking cayenne supplements and getting in hot tubs or saunas during the healing process.

sweat

Herxheimer’s Reaction

I mentioned above that removal of yeast and parasites can be uncomfortable at times. This reaction, named after the German dermatologist who discovered it, is basically the discomfort caused by the die off of yeast and parasites and the body’s attempt to remove them. The faster you attempt to treat symptoms and the more potent remedies you take, the higher your chance of experiencing this reaction.

It is best to be on an anti-yeast/parasite diet for several weeks before starting supplements to help minimize this reaction. Starting with small doses of Apple Cider Vinegar and Diatomaceous Earth and then working up will also help keep die off symptoms at bay.

You may even find that you “catch a cold” a week or so after starting to treat your yeast and parasite symptoms. This is actually a mild Herxheimer reaction, and backing down supplements and drinking more water should help it pass quickly.

Other Important Notes

Removing yeast and parasites is a difficult job for your body. During this process, it is highly important that you support your body as much as possible with regular exercise, good diet, adequate sleep, and limiting exposure to toxins.

Soaking in an Epsom salt bath (1/2 cup Epsom salts in hot bath water) will also help remove toxins from the skin. Drinking enough water will help flush die off toxins out faster, and adequate sleep will give the body enough time to regenerate.

During this time, it is also vitally important that you do not consume sugar or carbs, as this will make the process much slower and much more uncomfortable. Consuming enough raw vegetables during this time will also help keep your energy levels up and clean the body faster.

A grain-free and sugar-free diet are vital in removing yeast and parasites from the body.
